* The Band * Images * Music * Events * Links * Contact * Bobby Akash Bobby plays piano, synths, and a variety of percussion instruments including tone drum, congas, and mini-vibes. Bobby appears on Koya Pele Swan's debut CD "Blessings on Your Journey" for a mesmerizing piano and flute duet. Bobby has studied composition for many years with rising star and acclaimed composer Michael Smolens, and is set to release a recording of his own compositions later this year. Bobby has taught piano and keyboards for several years, and has recently started a first ever music program teaching percussion to Developmentally Disabled adults at a facility in Redwood City, CA. In addition to his passion for music, Bobby has a lifelong devotion to spiritual and psychological healing modalities, both Eastern and Western. He has studied and practiced Sacred Dance, non-ordinary states of consciousness, Native American spirituality, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Christian Mysticism. Bobby has degrees in Philosophy, Religion (BA) and Eastern Studies and Comparative Psychology (MS). Bobby believes it is vitally important to incorporate spiritual awareness and energy into music, which led him to joining Bekka's Frogland Orchestra.
